I love having a day set apart to celebrate mothers! I always have. My dad was telling us yesterday how Mother's Day started..it started back in 1908! A lady named something Jarvis (sorry, I can't remember her first name) started it 3 years after her own mother passed away. Ms. Jarvis' mom always said that there should be a day to celebrate motherhood...so after she died, her daughter got it going! Pretty cool eh? So yesterday was the 100th Mother's Day!!
Now, on to my mom...
I can not express how thankful I am for my mom. She is amazing, and anyone who knows her will agree. All growing up, I NEVER heard her gossip (and she still doesn't). She always has something nice to say about everyone, and she is ALWAYS nice to everyone. I loved (and still love) being around her. She has a song for everything, she laughs all the time, and makes you feel important when you are with her. I love her 'laffy taffy' type jokes that she thinks are so funny. She is always willing to serve, and has been an excellent example of what it means to be charitable. I always have, and still do, consider her one of my bestest friends!
I just pray that I will be half the mom to my children, like she is to me.
To my mother-in-law..
Thank you for making me feel so welcome in your home. Since the first day Steve and I started hanging out, you made me feel welcome. Even when Steve was on his mission, you let me come over and just hang out. You are willing to do anything for anyone. You always put your children's needs before yours. I am thankful to have you as my mother-in-law, and of course..thank you for giving me Steve :0)
I love you both!
