February Recap

Well, it's about 4:20 a.m. and I can't sleep...so, I'll do a recap of February...

A few fun things happened this month..

1st....

It's my parents 28th Anniversary today!!! (7th anniversary in Leap Years)

I can't tell everyone enough how much I look up to parents! They are the best examples of what to be 'when you grow up'. I have always been able to talk to my parents about anything. We would always stay up late just talking (I love that we still do that). I swear my friends would come over to hang out with my parents...not me. I love that their door is always open. I am so thankful that they made my friends feel welcome anytime. It's funny to me how much they spoil Steve. They always keep a gallon of chocolate milk in the fridge for him, animal cookies in the pantry, and m&m's in the treat bucket (ok the m&m's are also for my mom) It makes me smile when we go over for Sunday dinner and my dad is SO exited to Steve's face when he takes his first bite of the roast. My dad loves saying 'Try to guess what I did different'. I love that before we leave, my mom, without fail, will say 'WAIT! Where are you going?' They have been there for me through everything...good and bad. I am so thankful for them!!!! They are fantastic parents (of 4 fantastic children and 2 fantastic sons-in-law) and they are FANTASTIC grandparents to Desi and Preston!!!

HaPpY AnNiVeRsArY! We LoVe YoU MuCh and MuCh and MuCh and MuCh and MuCh!

2nd and 3rd...Two of my really good friends got engaged!! Sydney to Chad and Heather to Jeff! I am SOOOO happy for you both! You guys are going to make BEAUTIFUL brides!!!

5 things on my to-do list today:

take Preston to his appointment
eat (again, NOT kidding! It seems like Preston is the only one eating during the day which isn't good, I need to eat too!)
hang out with my mom, dad, sister, and niece, Preston, bro and hubby
make dinner
WOW! not much of a to-do list eh?, but at least I have done all but make dinner...Cafe Rio can do that for me!

5 snacks I enjoy:
Homemade chocolate chip cookies
An almond, craisin, goldfish cracker mix

Cinnamon Sun Chips
Ice-yes I consider this a snack...and no, my iron isn't low...i just love ice

What would I do if I suddenly became a billionaire:
in no particular order...
build my dream home (it would be like the one I have now, but much bigger and I would have a laundry room)
put money away for my kids
pay off my debt
pay off my parents debt
pay tithing
GO ON VACATION....or at least every other month go on vacation for a month
buy a killer whale
bribe the U of U into letting my brother-in-law Drew do is PA schooling there so my sis, niece, and bro-in-law don't have to move to Maine
if bribing doesn't work, then I would buy my own plane so I could fly to Maine whenever I want
buy a black BMW M5 with all the works!
buy Steve his dream garage with all the tools imaginable
oh the list goes on and on...

5 places I have lived

5 things you don't know about me
I want to own a killer whale, if I can't own one, I REALLY want to swim with one!
I wanted to be a marine biologist but then found out about all the math that was involved and changed my mind
I love just picking up and going on vacation.. I would always be on a vacation if I could...it doesn't matter where, as long as it's a vacation
I wish I knew the Book of Mormon I thinks it SO neat when people can spat off scriptures (and know WHERE THEY are from) and just talk about scriptures
I am NOT technology savvy...as long as my cell phone makes calls, answers calls. I am happy, and I am barely texting...blogging is a HUGE step for me

Daddy and me

Some nights Preston has been really fussy and just not happy (we are thinking reflux had A LOT to do with it) well Steve being the fantastic dad that he is, would take him to calm him down. He would walk around the house and eventually end up on the couch....No one can calm Preston down like Steve, in fact, one night, Preston had been crying for about an hour and half. I had tried everything and my thighs were on fire from bouncing. So I went into our bedroom and asked Steve to take him just for a few minutes. As soon as Steve took Preston, he stopped crying INSTANTLY. So Steve handed him back to me, and he started crying INSTANTLY, so I handed Preston back to Steve and he stopped crying INSTANTLY, so I started crying and got in bed, pouted, and fell asleep....I am blaming that one on the hormones...
Yeah for pumping!!! Steve is SOOOO happy that he gets to help feed Preston...

Steve and I had 4 hours just to ourselves with Preston...it was fabulous! It is so sweet to see Steve holding Preston and to have that alone time with just the three of us
I LOVE MY BOYS!!!
I was thinking about the 'aftermath' of giving birth and why it really isn't talked about. I had some friends (thanks Shelly and Tasha) who kind of clued me in. I mean, you're told all about how to get pregnant (hopefully), you know what to expect when expecting, but no one ever really gets into detail about what happens to your body as soon as the precious baby is out...no I will spare you the details because as I was thinkging about this, I looked down at Preston and he had those big blue eyes looking up at me with his 'gas' smile, and the throbbing from the waist down went away, and I swear I stopped leaking for a moment. That's why it's not really talked about, because it doesn't matter. IT'S WORTH IT! and when you've waited 3 years, like we have to get a precious spirit into your home, you'll do and go through anything. Besides, the throbbing goes away, and you eventually stop leaking. I am SO lucky!!!

Beginning

Well, I'm actually going to attempt this blogging thing...I am not much of a scrapbooker person, but this seems fun, and I am exited to do it, so here goes!

The most recent event is...Preston is here! WA HOO!!!

He was born on December 28, 2007. He weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and was 19 inches long, NOT 21 inches like the hospital told us....yep, that's right. They said he was 21 inches long, so on his birth certificate, it will say that he was 21 inches long, when he actually was only 19..funny eh? He is DARLING, as you can see from the pics, which by the way, were done by Brittany Griffiths...isn't she good??? I will have more in about a week, so I will post those later...

We are SOOOOO exited that he is here! I think he will be a daddy's boy..(he already has Steve wrapped around his finger) I love my boys!!!!

It is crazy to think that Steve and I became 'official' 9 years ago today!!! Time flies! Well, Happy 9 love!
